Food portraitI seem to be doing a lot of individual images lately. It's enjoyable to get really close to something and see what emerges. A photography quote I like is that you should show people things they haven't seen before or things they see everyday but in a new manner. Well, that's what this image is all about. How many times do you walk through the produce section of the grocery store, right by the butternut squash, and not give it a passing glance? Other than its interesting shape there really isn't much to attract anyone to spend time looking over it. Still, when that moment in time is frozen and you can really get a look at it the form, color and texture is pretty interesting.
